TRADITIONAL TIMBER FRAME Our traditional timber frame homes use only the finest quality douglas fir, yellow cedar and western red cedar timbers from British Columbia. Each timber is hand selected for the best appearance and strength. While natural characteristics are highlighted, fine grain and "free of heart center" specifications guarantee the stability of the timbers. Meticulously hand crafted joinery (dovetail or mortise and tenon) is secured with hardwood pegs or splines. Each timber frame component is test fitted, predrilled, and sanded at the factory, prior to shipping with your Tamlin House Package. HYBRID TIMBER FRAME Tamlin also designs HYBRID Timber Frame homes. Conventional 2x4/2x6 wood frame construction is complimented with the natural beauty of timber frame accents such as custom roof trusses, open riser stairs, timber ceilings, authentic timber entryways/porches, decorative beams and solid bracing. Our HYBRID packages offer all the advantages of a timber frame house "appearance",while maintaining the complete design and cost flexibility of a conventional system.
